CHILD CARE CENTER INFORMATION

ABOUT US:

 

South Side Baptist Child Care Center strives to serve you and your child with respect and fairness.  It is our desire to be the best Child Care Center you and your family will ever have.

 

Our Teachers:

Teachers at South Side Childcare Center will have a minimum of a high school diploma when hired.   

EACH TEACHER IS REQUIRED TO HAVE 12 HOURS OF SPECIALIZED

CHILD CARE TRAINING EACH YEAR.

 

Our Enrollment:

Our Center accepts children from 6 weeks of age through the summer of their third grade year.  We transport children to and from Glenn O’ Swing School for our after-school program.  Children in our program will be able to play and interact with their peers.  Your child will be exposed to learning activities and concepts that will help the child to develop on his/her age level.

 

Our Ratio:

The ratio for the preschool children in a particular age group is set up by the Commonwealth of KY and is as follows:

Birth-1year                            1 staff person per 5 children

1 to 2 years                            1 staff person per 6 children

2 to 3 years                            1 staff person per 10 children

3 to 4 years                            1 staff person per 12 children

4 to 5 years                            1 staff person per 15 children

School age                            1 staff person per 25 children

 

Our Daily Routine:

We open at 6:00am and close at 6:00 pm.  Breakfast is served at approximately 8:30 am.  Lunch is served at approximately 11:30 and afternoon snack 2:30 – 2:45.  (For smaller children and toddlers, breakfast & lunch might be a little earlier than the above times).  Large/small muscle activities are planned for all age groups.  Gym time and playtime are scheduled daily for each group.  Educational learning activities are also planned for each level, including a Christian-based (non-denominational) curriculum for children two, three and four years old from September through May.  Our Summer program begins on June 1 and features many fun activities including field trips for the older children.

 

Meals:

Our meals are prepared for the children on site.  We have good, hot meals.  We are inspected and licensed by the Health Department and by the State Department of Education Regulation /Licensing Department.  We must have a doctor’s note on file if your child is allergic to certain foods or if foods are not eaten for religious beliefs.

 

Arrival Time:

We open at 6:00am.  Children will be accepted each morning up until 10:00 am.   After 10:00 am, we will only accept children whose parents have called and made arrangements to come in late on a given day.  (Example: doctor’s appt. or WIC appt.)

 

Weekly Fees:

6wks. old – 3 yrs. old     = $120.00;

3yrs. – 5yrs =$105.00;

Kindergarten thru 3rd Grade =$70.00 after school program and

$100.00 a week for the summer program.

You are also entitled to 2 weeks vacation a year without a fee.

Weekly fees must be paid by Friday of the current week.

There is a one time $20.00 registration fee (non-refundable) when you are registering your child for the first time.
